What can I expect of my VAT or Reiki sessions?
General
- You will be resting on a massage table in partially seated position (see photo)
- You will remain fully clothed
- Come in comfortable clothing
- A blanket will be provided for comfort or warmth or fan for those warmer days
- VAT and Reiki are non-invasive complementary treatments and are NOT suggested as a replacement for any medical treatments you are receiving
- You will experience calmness and relaxation - a sense of wellbeing.
- Some effects can appear several hours or often days after these therapies.
- Repeated sessions will increase the cumulative effect of the therapy series
- How many sessions? A minimum of 3 is recommended for best results. Although effects may be felt even after 1 session.
Vibroacoustic
- Vibroacoustics (VAT) has well documented client based trial research and may not suit some conditions - A client intake/information form is required to be completed prior to your session
- An idea of which conditions can be treated with VAT are included on the What can be treated with VAT page
- This treatment is not a massage, however the benefits are said to be likened to a massage at cellular level
- Clients may fall asleep during the session
- Clients may experience an emotional release after sessions - this is completely normal and will usually pass
Reiki
- This treatment session is not a massage and Reiki will be conducted with hands mostly off body.
- Clients report feelings of relaxation and may experience warmth, tingling or even coolness from the Reiki Energies. Individuals receiving Reiki may experience slight body movement such as twitching and stomach rumbles. A recipient may feel sleepy and fall asleep for part of the session.
